What is your why? - Why do you create? What do you love about creating?
You know that feeling after you get off a rollercoaster - full of adrenaline, your skin is tingling and you feel exhilarated? That is exactly how I feel at every wedding and it's addictive. That is why I do I what I do!
How did you get started?
I started my business by doing a childhood friend's wedding that I wasn't invited to but wanted to go to. They were looking for someone to help them with their day so I offered. I left the wedding flying high and having the time of my life. Later that year on a cruise my husband challenged me to "just try - what is the worst thing that could happen?" and thus began Prairie Sky Events.
If you could give your 16-year-old self some advice what would it be?
To not take life so seriously- enjoy it!
Do you still get scared in your biz?
Absolutely every day! I always am worried that I don't know what I am doing. haha! But especially working at new venues and larger or more complex weddings always scares me but in a good way.
What is the one tech support you couldn't live without?
Calendly and Google docs.
What is one management support you can't live without?
Wireless headphones to focus and adding colour to my office - having a space that makes me happy helps me want to be in here.
How do you feed your creativity?
I surround myself in colour both my office and what I wear.
