Meet Our Panellists: Charmaine Jennings
Here she is: Charmaine Jennings
“Over the years Charmaine and her team has worked with a variety of clients from clothing designers, to educational institutions, to realtors and every industry in between.
Charmaine holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from The University of Winnipeg, and a diploma in creative communications, specializing in public relations, from RRC Polytech. Her interest in marketing started when she was in the eighth grade and has grown into a deep passion over the years.
Some of Charmaine’s most recent achievements include being nominated two years in a row of the Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Manitoba, serving as an ambassador for Adobe Creative Cloud Express, and representing Canada as a delegate with Futurpreneur at the 2022 G20 Youth Entrepreneurs’ Alliance Summit in Hamburg, Germany.” - About, Strategic Charm (website)
What is the hardest part about what you do?
Staying organized and on top of the team, clients, community members, events, etc.
What is the all-time dream part of your job? The thing you still pinch yourself that you get to do? And, tell the people how often you actually get to do it.
I love connecting people so the fact that I've incorporated that into my business through Hustle + Charm has been incredible. I love seeing people instantly click when meeting for the first time, seeing people initiate collaborations and witnessing true friendships start to form. I also love to travel so the fact I've been able to speak at and attend International conferences in places like Chicago, Germany, India, etc. has been surreal.
If you could tell your Day 1, starting a biz self one thing what would it be?
That I'm on the right path and everything in business will work out when and how it's supposed to.
Someone wants to have their own Strategic Charm & start a marketing agency. What advice - from an expert - would have saved you a lot of time, sweat, and tears?
Specific to Strategic Charm, I would tell people interested in starting a marketing agency to pick a niche and stick with it for the first year. It makes it a lot easier to hone in on your craft and to find and support your target audience. Offering too many services from the start can make it confusing for people to understand how you can help them.
Fun fact about you?
I was on Family Feud Canada last March!
Fav book? Fav show? Your All-time go-to movie while working?
I love musicals! My top 3 (in order) are West Side Story, Hairspray and The Greatest Showman!
Any closing thoughts for the Camp Rover Community?
I'm so excited to connect with new and familiar faces, and to inspire even one person to make their next move ;)
